First week!
The first week was a great week, a tad bit overwhelming but I made it!! It was better once I figured everything out. I guess I just never really realized how much stuff goes into leasing and all the different computer programs that you have to use! My first weekend here went pretty well I tried to stay busy by working out every day. I went to a cook out that a co-worker had yesterday (sunday 23rd) and it was very nice to be able to hang out with the people I work with outside of work. I think I finally got the hang of all the phone calls and information that you have to get considering that I took more phone calls today than I probably did all last week with how busy we were. This week already seems like it will be another great week! The weather out here has been so great and beautiful!!

United States Air Force Academy
Today we took a trip to see the United States Air Force grounds...
The next few photos were taken in the Visitors Center on the USAF base.
These were two airplanes that were by the chapel.
These are photos of the USAF chapel.
This was outside of the chapel, along with several other Roll of Honor names.
These are some statues that were by the chapel.

Cripple Creek
My parents and I took an hour drive up into the mountains to this little town called Cripple Creek, that is 9,200 feet above ground. Basically its made up of a ton of casinos and that's about it. I was waiting for my mom in one of them when the security guards were escorting this young sir out due to high intoxication (mind you this was at like 2 in the afternoon)... Although once he saw me standing at the door he just had to stop and stair. These casinos also had free alcoholic beverages, all day any day. I have found out that people in small towns stair quite a bit at the visitors (it didn't look like he was on of the locals though just incredible drunk and out of it).
On the way back there were quite a few interesting places to see and houses on the top of a mountain that looks like it would just fall of one way or another. While we were driving through the mountains we had some rain, sleet, hail and last but not least SNOW. Apparently, Colorado Springs gets snow in the middle of May...
And then there are the small towns just scattered in the mountains with not much around them.
I also attempted to take some photos while we were driving back down the mountain.

Finally Made It!
After driving 17 hours, going through Kansas which is nothing but flat farm land, a lot of cows, way to any junk yards along the high way and a few piles of broken appliances and I mean a lot of appliances, we finally made it to Colorado Springs yesterday. It was a lot of unpacking, organizing and getting stuff that did not fit in the car since my parents drove the whole way out here while I just slept or read some in the car.
The apartment they gave me to live in is a nice size, the kitchen is a little small but it's fully furnished and free, all I have to do is pay for a couple utilities and that's it. Colorado Springs is quite a bit bigger than I expected with about 500,000+ people, and a lot of going up and down hills as you drive. Who ever would had guessed that the day I get here it's 40 degrees, so cloudy you can hardly see the top of the mountains and sprinkling all day. It's a bit hard getting used to the time change since I had been in 3 different time zones in two days.
Hopefully the weather will be getting nicer out so I can go out and see some sights and get used to this HUGE town that I will now be calling home for the next 3 months!

Getting ready
It has been probably 3 of the most stressful days getting my car worked on, being carless and then coming home and having another problem with it and needed it fixed within the next few hours so it's ready for the drive in the morning. Speaking of leaving in the morning, we are leaving at 5 am which means we need to be up at like 4 am and for some reason I just have absolutely no reason to go to bed since I will more than likely be sleeping most of the time. Hopefully, I will get to bed at some point considering it's 12:25 am and I have to be up in oh 3 1/2 hours.
